Her relationships with Kate Middleton and Victoria Beckham have also been constant sources of controversy. However, a new revelation about her relationship with her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, has caused a stir in the British press and among the general public.

The “New Diana”?

Well-known royal biographer Tom Bower recently published a new book titled “House of Beckham,” which revolves around the relationship and career of David and Victoria Beckham. In the book, Bower claims that after her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle came to see herself as the “new Diana.”

Bower explains that the success she had on her first royal tour of Australia led Markle to see herself as the successor to Harry’s late mother. This idea also caused Meghan to feel dissatisfied with her place in the British royal hierarchy.

In the book, Bower claims that Meghan was upset because “in the royal hierarchy she was subservient to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and the future Queen.” Amid multiple feuds, Meghan and Harry renounced their royal status in 2020 and have been living in California ever since.

“House of Beckham” brought to light several secrets of the Duchess of Sussex. Among them, Bower claims that Markle envies Victoria Beckham’s fortune. “She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself,” the author said.

According to Bower“As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.” Neverheless, the author exposed, the Beckhams “owned five homes, had constant access to private jets, invitations to sail on yachts, and much more money.”

Eventually, the Sussexes‘ attitude led to a rift with the BeckhamsVictoria and David have remained close to Prince William and Princess Kate, while Meghan and Harry have focused on establishing their life in the United States and their multiple business ventures.
