MrBeast says he put his girlfriend through 'the test' when he first met her

The YouTube star assesses his potential partner’s hobbies and preferred social media content

It seems that even the most popular of celebrities and internet stars aren’t exempt from the turmoil that is 21st century dating.

But YouTube sensation MrBeast has revealed he put his now-girlfriend through a series of specific tests and trials when they were first getting to know each other.

Hoping not to discover a strange hobby or stalker ex later down the line, the 23-year-old put his girlfriend, Thea Booyson – whom he is understood to have dated since 2019 – ‘through the wringer’ before making their romance official.

Those who might not be familiar with MrBeast – real name Jimmy Donaldson (I know, considerably less intriguing…) – should know that the social media pro is one of the most followed people on YouTube – with over 105 million subscribers.

He’s worked on several huge projects in the past year or so, one of which included fearlessly recreating the Netflix smash hit Squid Game on his channel.

Now you’re up to speed, let’s explain why the content creator is once again catching headlines in the world of romance.

As he explained on the Flagrant podcast, he said that when meeting new women he has ‘to go through these tests because like, I don’t, I don’t really get along with women’.

So, what are the tests? Well, it includes having a hobby, what kind of content they consume, and if they like learning.

Yep, sounds like a bad hinge date, but each to their own – eh?

He went on to say: “If I meet a girl that’s like beautiful and we have these 10 traits like we’re gonna be literally best friends, right?”, before adding that his girlfriend ‘check[s] every single one of them’.

“I had to put her through the wringer and start asking questions.”

Still, it’s not the most intense thing we’ve seen from the YouTuber because he also knows exactly what he’s doing on his channel in the event of his death.

MrBeast explained that should he die, his billion-dollar channel would be up for grabs, and his friends just have to put all hands on deck – quite literally.

Joking about his death earlier this year, the YouTuber said of his friends and collaborators: “Oh, yeah, they want me to die.”

“They do, because the second I die, yeah, Carl, Chandler, Chris, the three guys, Nolan, maybe, he’s a little newer we haven’t decided if he partakes yet or not […] they’ll put their hand in my Tombstone [and the] last to take it off gets the channel. Everything. 100 percent, everything.”

Not exactly what we’d imagined for a farewell video.

MrBeast went on to add: “That is happening, mark my words. I don’t even know if I’ve really said it publicly. I tweeted it one time, but I’m serious I don’t give a — how much you guys cry, right [his friends should] put their hands on the tombstone and give the channel to whoever wins okay? And don’t bully them for it they’re just doing what I want.”
