“Started From the Bottom Now We’re Here”- ‘MrBeast’s Last Hope’ Goes Down the
Memory Lane of the Journey From Earning $10 an Hour to Having a Net Worth
of $1 Million
MrBeast’s popularity is at an all-time high right now. Apart from becoming the most subscribed individual YouTuber, MrBeast has been donating a lot to charities. Although he and his team are quite rich to give to charities right now, they all had very humble beginnings. Especially Chandler, who worked as a janitor before.
Recently Chandler went on a podcast to talk about his journey of joining the MrBeast’s team. He shared about his growth both as a person and in his career with MrBeast.
Chandler shares how he joined the MrBeast team
Chandler first met MrBeast while playing baseball at the college level. He was introduced to MrBeast by Tyler Conklin, another MrBeast team member, and mutual friend. Conklin called up Chandler and offered him a job with MrBeast when they were short-staffed. The interview process for Chandler was quick, and he was hired.
While working as a janitor, Chandler had a 10-12 hours shift. And he had to maintain a timesheet in order to be paid. Jacobs revealed while he joined later, he also had to log in with an app to register his timings.
He shared that his daily routine working as a janitor was hectic too. He was responsible for getting props, building sets and then cleaning up after the video was shot. And Karl Jacobs commended Chandler on his hard work. “He started off cleaning up orbeez, going from that, working hard, made his way to the top,” said Jacobs.
The on-screen debut of Chandler
Although, GeorgeNotFound had some questions of his own for Chandler. He asked how much Chandler made while working as a janitor. Chandler stated he made $10 per hour, or around $100 a day. Jacobs also reminded everyone that this was during the early days of MrBeast. Jimmy Donaldson also was in his budding days and did not have heavy earnings.
Sapnap finally asked Chandler what was his first big breakthrough. He wanted to know which video brought Chandler from an off-screen janitor to an on-screen talent. “If I remember correctly, it was a last-to-leave video,” he said. Chandler, however, made his debut in a video titled We Are Better Than Dude Perfect.
Chandler has not looked back ever since and has become a regular in MrBeast videos. He now has a net worth of $1 million. What are your thoughts on Chandler’s journey? Let us know in the comment section below.
