A new poll has shown that the public believes Prince William and Kate need to work harder before their eventual rise to the throne.

The poll was run by data company Deltapoll, which asked more than 2,000 Brits what they currently think about the monarchy, where it is heading, and if it will remain in the next 50 years.

The poll shows that 62 per cent of those asked believed that more work should be passed to Prince William and Kate, while over half voted that the royal family is still a net positive for the country, and only 23 per cent believe the country should become a republic, reports the Daily Mail.

Currently, the well-liked pair are patrons of multiple charities, and run projects that they are specifically passionate about. But since the death of the late queen, Princess Kate obtained the titles of Colonel-in-Chief, 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards, Royal Honorary Air Commodore for RAF Coningsby, and Commodore-in-Chief, Fleet Air Arm.

Meanwhile, Prince William was awarded Colonel-in-Chief of the Mercian Regiment, Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps and Royal Honorary Air Commodore for RAF Valley. This comes just after Prince William was voted as the most admired public figure in the U.S. ahead of Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump.

But the poll still believes that King Charles has what it takes to lead the crown, as over half of those asked believed that his mother would be proud of how he has handled his new title and responsibilities.

As well as the above, 47 per cent of voters also declared that Prince Andrew had done the most damage to the monarchy in recent times, while Prince Harry came second with 38 per cent.

And, the poll does not do Prince Harry or Meghan any favours, as 40 per cent said that King Charles III should never allow them to take up Royal roles again, while 25 per cent believe the King should be open to the idea, and 20 per cent said only Harry should be considered.
