KATE, Duchess of Cambridge, enjoyed partying surrounded by “male admirers” before marrying Prince William in 2011, photos from an event two years earlier show.

The Duchess is well-known across the globe for her iconic style, elegance and sophistication. Kate, as William’s first serious girlfriend, spent most of her adult life being groomed for a royal role and adapting to the scrutiny. For this reason, since marrying Prince William in 2011, she has been described by many as the perfect royal consort.

However, just like most young people, even the future Duchess enjoyed partying and there have been a few occasions where she let the guard down before officially joining the Royal Family.

A 2008 report from the Mail Online claims that Kate, who at the time was only Prince William’s girlfriend, joined thousands of revellers at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday concert in Hyde Park on June 27.

The 26-year-old was pictured laughing and having the time of her life surrounded by what the Mail Online described plenty of “male admirers”.

At the time, Prince William was pursuing his military career aboard HMS Iron Duke in the Caribbean.

Kate watched acts including Amy Winehouse, Sugababes, Leona Lewis, Razorlight and Queen at the birthday party, which was introduced by Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.

It was not the only time that year that the Duchess was pictured partying.

In 2008, she also helped helped organise an Eighties themed Day-Glo Midnight Roller Disco for charity.

The event was held at the Renaissance Rooms in Vauxhall, London, and as the co-organiser, Kate fully committed to the theme of the party.

The outfit did little to conceal her dignity especially when during her skating routine, she slipped and was painfully introduced to the floor in what the Mail Online described at the time as an “embarrassing heap”.

The Duchess was not injured and after laying on the floor for a few seconds, her friends were pictured helping her to her feet.

The event attracted hundreds of guests, with many wearing equally flashy outfits.

Kate’s sister, Pippa, also opted for pink leg warmers to brighten up her little black dress.
