Camilla Parker Bowles did something that ruined Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ honeymoon.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ honeymoon was not as romantic as what everyone thought. Although Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s royal wedding was like a fairytale, their honeymoon lacked romance and even turned out sour.

In a series of secret interviews, documented by Channel 4’s “Diana: In Her Own Words,” Princess Diana shared how Camilla ruined their first days as a married couple.

“And on our honeymoon, cufflinks arrive on his wrists. Two C’s entwined like the Chanel ‘C’. Got it. One knew exactly,” Princess Diana said (via Express). “So I said ‘Camilla gave you those didn’t she?’ He said ‘Yes, so what’s wrong? They’re a present from a friend.”

“And boy, did we have a row. Jealousy, total jealousy. And it was such a good idea the two ‘C’s but it wasn’t that clever,” she added.

Princess Diana added that instead of enjoying their private time together, Prince Charles spent their honeymoon to “catch up on sleep.” To make the matter worse, Princess Diana suffered from bulimia and even dreamed of Camilla.

“My dreams were appalling at night, I dreamt of Camilla the whole time. Everybody saw me getting thinner and thinner and thinner, and I was getting sicker and sicker and sicker,” the late Princess of Wales continued. “Basically they thought I could adapt being Princess of Wales overnight.”

It wasn’t the first time Camilla hurt Princess Diana. According to the People’s Princess, she was also broken-hearted when Camilla called when Prince Charles was about to leave for his five-week royal tour.

Princess Diana opted to be nice and left the two talking on the phone. Later that day, she was seen in tears as Prince Charles departed, but their time apart was not the reason for her grief. She blamed it on Camilla’s call.

“You may recall seeing a picture of me sobbing in a red coat when he went off on his aeroplane,” Princess Diana recalled. “That had nothing to do with him going. The most awful thing had happened before he went.”

In related news, Sarah Ferguson and Camilla reportedly fought over Princess Diana during their vacation in Balmoral. The Duchess of York reportedly couldn’t hold it anymore and confronted the Duchess of Cornwall for all the things she did that hurt Prince Charles’ first wife. Ferguson and Princess Diana were good friends, but they were not on speaking terms before the tragic accident that killed the Princess of Wales.​
