Prince Harry’s “best friend” has joined forces with one of Meghan Markle’s biggest critics, Jeremy Clarkson.

Prince Harry's and Hugh van Cutsem

Prince Harry’s former best mate has added fuel to the fire of a speculated feud after joining forces with Meghan Markle’s arch-nemesis, Jeremy Clarkson.

The ex-Top Gear presenter made waves in 2022 when he penned a column for The Sun newspaper, where he brutally expressed his disdain for the Duchess of Sussex. In the piece, Clarkson voiced his wish for the Duchess to be publicly humiliated and paraded through the streets naked – a sentiment later deemed sexist by the press watchdog.

Harry and Meghan condemned the article, which was subsequently pulled by The Sun, accusing it of propagating “hate rhetoric”, “dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny”. However, it appears that one of the Duke of Sussex’s closest pals has now changed allegiances, as he was spotted in an episode of Jeremy’s popular Amazon Prime series, Clarkson’s Farm.

Hugh van Cutsem, who has been friends with both Harry and Prince William since childhood, was seen deer stalking in the seventh episode of the show alongside Jeremy, hinting at another friend who has potentially fallen out with the prince.

Hugh’s father, also named Hugh, was a long-standing friend of King Charles, with their friendship dating back to their university days at Cambridge in the 1960s. Their children followed suit, forming close bonds, with William even playing a significant role as senior usher at Hugh’s wedding to Rose Astor in 2005.
