Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s departure from a garden party at Buckingham Palace, in honour of then-Prince Charles’s 70th birthday has been a topic of debate among Royal enthusiasts.
The party was held in 2018, shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their fairy tale wedding ceremony in Windsor, which took place in May.
Video clips from the event depict Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exiting swiftly from the Royal gathering after the Prince had a hushed conversation with his father.
Royal commentator, Lady Colin Campbell, commented on the apparent tension during the celebration. According to her, Meghan was supposedly “bored” and there were claims they had been asked to leave the gathering.

In Lady Colin’s book named “Meghan and Harry: The Real Story”, she revealed that saying Meghan and Harry “plunged in, gladhanding those who had been selected for introductions. She charmed everyone,” reports the Express.
Apparently, Meghan commented to Harry just fifteen minutes into the event, “Fifteen minutes into the event, she turned to Harry and said, ‘Harry, this is really boring. Let’s leave.'”
According to the book, however, he responded that they needed to remain. Despite this, Meghan repeated her sentiments, stating “But Harry, this is so boring. We’ve done our bit. Everyone knows we’ve been here. Let’s go.”
Prince Harry apparently countered by insisting they should stay, following which they moved on.
Yet a professional lip reader has proposed a different explanation after analysing the footage.

Subsequently, Charles mentioned to Prince Harry, “We are going now, We have to leave”, to which Prince Harry replied, telling his father, “You go ahead”.
The newly crowned King said, “We will go now, see you later”, with Harry replying, “Yes, catch up after.”
A staff member connected to the Royal family approaches Harry, seemingly conveying that his father would like a private chat.
Harry obliges and takes a step aside, allowing Charles to speak to him quietly, one hand gently resting on his son’s arm during their exchange.
Harry, having absorbed whatever advice or words his father shared, then pats Charles on the back before rejoining Meghan. Shortly after, Camilla, now Queen Consort, makes her way over to say her farewells, planting a kiss on both Harry and Meghan before she too returns to the gathering.
