King Charles shares one key personality trait with Queen Elizabeth II, according to one royal expert.

Royal biographer and former photographer Ian Lloyd has said that the monarch is “determined” like his late mother was.

The 75-year-old, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February, stepped out to attend the annual Easter Sunday service in Windsor on March 31.

Although the monarch attended the service at St George’s Chapel, the Telegraph reported that he did not attend the post-service reception or host lunch.

Speaking of the King’s determination to be present, Mr Lloyd told GB News: “That is something he’s inherited from his mother.”

Discussing the monarch’s appearance prior to the service, he said: “I think he knows, should he not turn up, then that would be a worrying sign. He would have tried his best to be there.”

The Palace also released a statement prior to the service to state that both the King and Queen Camilla would be in attendance.

Speaking of this, he added: “The fact that they [the Palace] issued a statement saying that he’s going is a positive step because when the Queen [Elizabeth II] was frail, and the Queen Mother was frail, it was usually wait and see on the day approach.”

The King and Queen were joined on Sunday by other members of the family, including all three of the monarch’s siblings.queen elizabeth ii pictured in 2022

Dressed in green, Princess Anne was joined by her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence.

Prince Edward beamed as he made his way into the service with his wife, the Duchess of Edinburgh and their son, 16-year-old James.

Lady Louise Windsor, 20, was absent for the second year in a row – with her studies in Scotland being the likely reason for her no-show.

Just days after sharing Kate’s shock cancer diagnosis, the Prince and Princess of Wales chose not to appear at this year’s service.

Zara and Mike Tindall also made the decision not to attend the service in Windsor.

Princess Anne’s only daughter was recently spotted taking part in the Thoresby Park International Eventing Spring Carnival in Nottinghamshire on Good Friday.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their families were also absent.
