Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle was attended by their friends, family and celebrities but Queen Elizabeth was said to have had her “concerns”
It’s common for the bride and groom to get nervous before their big day.
No doubt Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have been worried about all eyes being on them for the extravagant Royal Wedding back in May, 2018.
But Prince Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was also said to be worried over a number of things about the big day.
According to Royal biographer Ingrid Seward, who has a new book My Mother and I, the Queen had four concerns.
These ranged from the Givenchy wedding dress worn by Meghan to the particularly long speech read by Archbishop Michael Curry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in a lavish televised ceremony complete with a slew of celebrity guests and a wedding gown to die for during a gorgeous sunny day at Windsor Castle.
Celebrity guests included Oprah Winfrey, Amal and George Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian and Priyanka Chopra.
These are the four things Ingrid said the Queen was worried about…
Charles walking down the aisle
According to Ingrid’s book, Queen Elizabeth also wasn’t happy with the then-Prince Charles waling Meghan down the aisle.
Charles took on the privilege of walking his soon-to-be daughter-in-law down the aisle after her father, Thomas Markle, didn’t make it to the ceremony.
Thomas was supposed to walk Meghan down the aisle but it’s reported he was uninvited for staging a series of paparazzi photographs in the run-up to the big day.

Harry made the decision to ask his father to stand in but the traditional queen was reportedly “uncomfortable” with the decision.
Speaking about the moment in the documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Harry said: “I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you.”
Concerns for Philip

Just five weeks before Meghan and Harry’s wedding, Prince Philip underwent a hip replacement operation.
The Queen was worried about how he would manage the walk down the aisle, after his operation.
In her new Royal book, Ingrid explained: “She was also concerned about 96-year-old Prince Philip’s decision to hobble down the aisle without a stick, despite having had a hip replacement just five weeks before.”
Desperate for the end
It has been documented that both the Queen and Prince Phillip hated long drawn-out ceremonies.
During Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s wedding, the Archbishop Michael Curry gave a 14-minute sermon on the power of love.
He hadn’t even met Meghan and Harry before the wedding ceremony, but told US Weekly that it did not take him long to realise the couple loved one another deeply.
Queen Elizabeth was said to be among the guests who were “startled by the impassioned outpourings” from Curry.
Author Ingrid claimed they were both “desperate for him to finish”. She added: “They must also have been aware that some of those around them were stifling their laughter.”

Meghan Markle’s simple white wedding dress was designed by Givenchy and featured an open bateau neckline and three-quarter length sleeves.
The late Queen is said to have found the gown “flamboyant” and thought it wasn’t fit for a divorcee.
