PRINCE HARRY had his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, cringing as he “sold” Meghan Markle during the premiere of the Lion King in London to Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Meghan Markle: Expert on Sussex’s ‘selling to highest bidder’

Prince Harry was previously spotted cosying up to Disney CEO Bob Iger at the London premiere of the Lion King, suggesting Meghan Markle would be available in the future for “voiceover” work. But the royal’s “cringe” moment left the Queen wondering why her family was “selling themselves off to the highest bidder”, an expert has claimed.

Video footage emerged showing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex talking about potential working opportunities for both himself and Meghan. In the video, the Duke can be heard saying: “Next time you need any voiceover work, we can make ourselves available.

“Anything like that. Just not Scar. That’s a no to Scar.”

Despite having his back to the camera, Favreau can be seen smiling as a smiling Duchess of Sussex said: “That’s really why we’re here, to pitch.”

Talking on 60 Minutes Australia, host Tom Steinfort said: “Surely there’s a cringe factor though?

“Particularly the Queen would be watching on thinking, ‘why are members of my family selling themselves off to the highest bidder?’.”

Royal expert and talent manager Jonathan Shalit added: “I’m sure senior members of The Royal Family are looking at this and wishing it hadn’t happened.

“But it has happened and that’s what happens with children whether you’re family or royal or not.

“Children often do what their parents don’t want and often parts go, ‘I wish my child hadn’t done that’.”

Meghan Markle: Lorraine discusses Harry ‘pitching’ to director

The couple could indeed explore the idea of a new partnership with Disney now they have announced they will step away from the role of “senior” roles after a brief transition period set to end in April.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they will seek to achieve complete “financial independence” from the Crown through work and will refund £2.4 million used to renovate their home at Frogmore Cottage last year.

Buckingham Palace confirmed Meghan and Harry will not be stripped of their HRH titles but will not use it and will instead simply be styled as Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the future.

The Palace also said the royals will spend most of their time in North America after previously saying they would split their time between their UK residence and a yet-to-define new home.
