Princess Eugenie paid tribute to her late grandmother the Queen with the unseen snap – saying she missed her but was remembering her ‘life of service, love and dedication’
Princess Eugenie paid tribute to her grandmother the Queen on the first anniversary of her death by sharing a never-before-seen picture of them together.
The 33 year old Royal shared a snap on social media on Friday showing her sitting beside the late monarch outside her log cabin in Glen Beg on the Balmoral estate. Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, wrote as a caption along with the image: “Thinking of you today.
Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson-in-law Mike Tindall also delivered a heartfelt tribute to the late monarch on Friday. The ex-England rugby ace and 2022 I’m A Celeb star posted a touching black and white video montage of photos from his late Queen’s incredible life and illustrious reign to social media.
Mike, the husband of Princess Anne ‘s daughter Zara, wrote alongside the video: “Massive day in the sport I love,” referencing the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup on Friday. “But I can’t help but start the day thinking about this wonderful woman that we lost a year ago today #thequeen #rip”.

Meanwhile, also on Friday, King Charles put out a poignant message and released a favourite photograph of his late mother to mark the first anniversary of her death and his accession to the throne. In words written and audio spoken at Balmoral Castle, the King thanked the nation for the love and support shown to him and Queen Camilla during his first year as monarch.
He said: “In marking the first anniversary of Her Late Majesty’s death and my accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service and all she meant to so many of us.
“I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all.”

The formal colour photograph he released of his late mother was taken by Cecil Beaton and shows a young Queen, then 42, at an official portrait sitting in 1968. In the picture, she stands sideways and smiles in her Garter robes and wears the Grand Duchess Vladimir’s Tiara, made of 15 interlaced diamond circles.
The King and Queen Consort marked the anniversary of the late Queen’s death privately at her beloved Balmoral estate, where she died peacefully on September 8 last year. Her death was the moment her son and heir Charles became King, and the date will remain a touching period for the head of state – who was said to be “raising a glass” to the late Queen at Balmoral on Friday.
