The pair grew up together, so it only made sense the duo took advantage of their close relationship in early adulthood, choosing to rent one place while training for their helicopter licenses.

Prince William once revealed Harry’s annoying habit that used to “keep him up all night” – years before the brothers fell out.

Despite choosing very different paths as they grew older, the royal brothers were extremely close throughout their 20s. They worked together on huge charity projects, carried out joint official engagements and tours and were always at each others sides for private royal events.

In 2009, when they were 27 and 24, the brothers lived together in a rented cottage while they were both training for their helicopter licences at the Defence Helicopter Flying School near RAF Shropshire. The brothers appeared in a televised interview during the same year and revealed that they were sharing their living costs.

“First time, last time we’ll be living together – I assure you of that,” said the younger prince during the lengthy appearance, before William interjected: “It’s been a fairly emotional experience.” And during the interview, William revealed his younger brother’s irritating condition that affected his own sleeping habits. “He snores a lot too. He keeps me up all night,” said William, to which Harry jokingly replied: “Well done, they’ll think we’re sharing a bed.”

“No, we’re not sharing – it’s very important we say that!” the future King clarified. But Harry’s snoring wasn’t the only thing William disliked about living with his younger brother – as the heir gave a revealing insight into the other bad habits of his younger brother around the house.

The Duke revealed: “Harry does the washing up, but then he leaves most of it in the sink and then I come back in the morning and I have to wash it up. I do a fair bit of tidying up after him,” to which Harry retorted “Lies!” replied Harry. William continued: “Bearing in mind I cook – I feed him every day – I think he’s done very well.”

The Duke of Sussex referenced his time in Shropshire in his memoir Spare, where he and “Wily” shared a cottage together 10 minutes away from the Air Force base and that it was their first time living together since being at boarding school together at Eton College.

During the beginning of the interview, Harry complemented William and said: “I think out of both of us, he’s definitely got more brains than me, we’ve established that from school” to which William rolled his eyes jokingly and comments: “And looks as well.” Harry then joked about his older brother’s “baldness”. William laughed and said: “Pretty rich coming from a ginger.”
