Prince Harry moved after seeing Kate Middleton smile again in the midst of her battle with cancer
Middleton has been battling cancer since January 2024
Kate Middleton continues to successfully fend off cancer and reintegrate herself into the public sphere, which has earned the praise of her younger brother-in-law as Prince Harry congratulated her on her mettle.
The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from his family since 2020 and especially from Prince William, Middleton’s husband, but the Princess of Wales has seemed to keep some small amount of contact with the 39-year-old.
Kate Middleton is welcomed by the public at wimbledon with Princess Charlotte
So, in a display of his empathy and compassion, he celebrated her decision to appear at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships on July 14 as she fulfilled her public roles just six months on from receiving her diagnosis of cancer.
“Harry was watching Wimbledon and was thrilled to see Kate looking so radiant,” a source told Heat magazine. “He sent her a note to congratulate her and let her know how happy he was to see her out.
“He’s just so grateful that she’s on the mend and able to get back to her duties after taking time off – as is Meghan.”
Middleton will likely go unseen for the remainder of the summer season as she continues her recovery from her undisclosed form of the disease and spends time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as well as her husband.
They are expected to enjoy the sun at Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, before heading to Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands where Queen Elizabeth II died in 2022.
Middleton takes in Wimbledon final
Middleton appeared at the All England Lawn Tennis Club inside Centre Court with her sister, Pippa Middleton and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, to rapturous applause from the gathered spectators.
She then watched Carlos Alcaraz smash Novak Djokovic in straight sets as the Spaniard won his second Wimbledon title and second successive trophy in the United Kingdom’s biggest tennis event.
“Great to be back at @Wimbledon,” Middleton later wrote on X.com, formerly Twitter. “There’s nothing quite like The Championships.”
