The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among hundreds of mourners at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Meghan Markle suspectedly ‘cried on demand’ at the late Queen’s funeral as an exposing ‘fake tears’ theory took the internet by storm.

Meghan and Harry flew in from California to show their respects at the funeral in September 2022. Despite the estrangement from royal duties, the couple were seated together alongside other members of the family, including Harry’s cousins Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Pictures from the day displayed Meghan becoming visibly emtional while outside Westminster Abbey, a single tear was seen straming down her face.

Critics of the former actress believe she was forcefully crying with an aim to appeal to the public, following the release of a video on TikTok claiming the tears were ‘fake’.

“If you see Meghan Markle crying from her left eye, it’s most probably fake. Let me explain. When Meghan was spotted crying at the Queen’s funeral, royal fans immediately accused her of fake crying. If you closely examined Meghan’s photo taken during the funeral, the tears were coming down only from her left eye.”

During an interview in 2014, Markle mentioned that she had mastered the art of fake crying out of her left eye. However, some fans of the Duchess came to her defence and ridiculed the creator of the video for making such an accusation.

“But tbh If you knew you told people that you could do that it would be stupid to do it at a funeral. If you’re not going to cry don’t fake cry,” one commented. Fans were adimant that the observation had been taken out of proportion.

The state funeral took place after an elaborate procession through London and fans rushed to defend Meghan, saying: “To be in that chapel, in all its beauty, to hear the choir singing & echoing throughout. To see the imperial crown removed from the coffin, its enough to make anyone in there emotional and cry!”

An old video on the Duchesses lifestyle blog, The Tig, shows Meghan explaining her talent for crying on demand out of her left eye: “Oh I can do that so well! Oh my god it’s crazy. They’re like, Meghan, one tear, left eye, go! Give me three seconds.”

This isn’t the first time such accusations have been thrown around; when the trailer for her and Harry’s Netflix series was released in 2022, the promo clip showed her sobbing while her husband threw his head back in despair. “Crocodile tears,” one critic fired on Twitter. “Always an actress…can chuck out tears.”
