Who is MrBeast’s girlfriend? Besides dating the man behind YouTube’s No 1 channel, she’s a Twitch streamer, YouTuber, esports caster, author … and master’s degree student

While MrBeast does not share many details about his personal life, he has actually been in a relationship with Twitch streamer and author Thea Booysen since 2022. The couple occasionally make appearances on each other’s Instagram pages, but Booysen tends to stay away from the spotlight and support him quietly behind the scenes instead.

Here’s all we know about Thea Booysen.

Thea Booysen was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. The 26-year-old runs a successful gaming channel on streaming platform Twitch. Her account, TheaBeasty, has nearly 30,000 subscribers.

Aside from streaming, she also has two YouTube channels: TheaBeasty, where she posts daily vlogs and gaming content – including appearances by MrBeast – and More Than Human, where she shares her psychology knowledge.

When she’s not streaming, Booysen is also an esports caster – or commentator – and co-owns NixuhGG, an esports organisation in South Africa, according to her X profile (formerly Twitter).

The multi-hyphenate is also an author. Her debut novel The Marked Children was published in 2022 and reportedly took her seven years to finish.

She’s an academic overachiever

Booysen has obtained separate degrees in law and psychology, according to her Amazon author biography. She’s currently reportedly working towards a master’s degree in neuropsychology in Scotland.

How did MrBeast and Thea Booysen, aka TheaBeasty, meet?

On an episode of video game writer Joshua Rubin’s Wide Awake Podcast, Booysen revealed that she met MrBeast through a friend in a club in South Africa. She revealed that the famous YouTuber asked her a number of questions during this first meeting.

“Little did I know he was actually like going off a list, because he was looking for a new girlfriend potentially. He’s like: she has to have a hobby, she has to have some interests, she has to do this and that,” she told Rubin.

The pair soon hit it off – and the rest is history.

Although MrBeast generally prefers to keep his relationship under wraps, Booysen has made cameos with MrBeast on his channel, such as in his “$1 vs $100,000,000 car!” video. She’s also posted videos on her channel where she’s visited Japan or played Gwent, a Witcher card game, with him.

They’re in a long-distance relationship

Booysen has hinted at the difficulty of maintaining a long-distance relationship, as she is in Scotland while MrBeast is based in the US.

Despite the distance though, the couple seem to be getting more serious. During an interview with The Real Network, Booysen revealed in August 2023 that the pair had started house hunting in the US. She relocated to Edinburgh for her degree in November, but discussed the idea of later moving to the US on the show.
