The royal trio went on to take a snap with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

PRINCE William’s dancing at Taylor Swift’s gig had an “alpha edge” but shows he “might have had practice”, a body language expert claims.

The future King celebrated his 42nd birthday at the concert in Wembley Stadium on Friday night children Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, nine.

Footage showing the Prince of Wales dancing in the crowd among thousands of roaring Swifties soon swept across social media.

The video, filmed by someone on a lower tier, shows Swift on the stage in the distance as she performs Shake It Off before panning round to William shaking his arms and torso.

William was seen – dressed in a buttoned down shirt and blazer – swaying his arms as he got into the music on the terrace.

Now, body language pro Judi James has claimed that William’s “epic” dance moves had a hidden meaning.

She told The Sun: “Standing alone and totally visible at the rail he dances like no-one is watching.

“The chest shimmy is a tricky technique, suggesting William might actually have had a bit of practice at this one on previous occasions.

“This is joyous dancing with a ‘celebratory alpha’ edge to it.”

James said that William was “clearly channelling” the likes of Topol, Stavros Flatley and Shakira with his moves.

She added: “Even in this brief clip we can see his movements, techniques and confidence increasing and accelerating until his arms are splayed out.

“His hands are held high and his chest puffed and performing a ‘sexy’ chest wobble or shimmy from side to side as his head is thrown back and his jacket falls open.”

Wills and his children also posed for selfies with Swift herself and her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce.

The Instagram post on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account said: “Thank you Taylor Swift for a great evening!”

Swift herself also shared a cute snap she took after the gig with William, George, Charlotte and her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce.

She wrote: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”

George looked like the double of his dad in a blue buttoned Ralph Lauren shirt and jeans, while Charlotte, nine, beamed at the camera in a sparkly top.

And body language expert James says the royal trio “drop out of royal mode” for the snaps with Charlotte in particular looking like a “proper Swiftie”.

She added: “Charlotte’s body language at the front of the pose, alongside Taylor herself, sees some intense mirroring as she adopts an identical pose to Taylor herself.

“For the moment they are just two fan-girls together and Charlotte’s wide, open-mouth smile shows how excited she is to be posing with arguably the world’s biggest star.

“William and George’s body language makes them look rather shy as well as delighted.

“William stands behind his son with a big grin on his face but holding onto George’s shoulders while George performs a shy smile with his hands clasped in front of his torso, with both father and son looking a little over-awed to be posing with Taylor here.”

Fellow royals Zara and Mike Tindall were also spotted at the gig.

Swift, 34, kicked off the UK leg of her The Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in front of 89,000 fans on Friday.

It comes after William was spotted in the crowd for England’s drab 1-1 draw with Denmark in Germany on Thursday in Euro 2024.

Yesterday, wife Princess Kate posted a snap of her husband with their kids on a beach, adding “We all love you, Papa” to mark his birthday.

William previously shared the stage with Swift at Kensington Palace in 2013 to perform Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi for a charity event.

“And then, I went inside, met everybody, a lot of handshaking to do those nights, a lot of chatting. I try and be charming and interactive.

“She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye and says: ‘Come on, William – let’s go and sing’.”

He added that he was “cringing” just recalling the incident.

Earlier on Friday, the Buckingham Palace band performed a rendition of Swift’s 2014 hit Shake It Off to mark her tour arriving in the city.

Among the other attendees at the concert were Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria.

The politician, who is currently ahead in the polls to take over as Prime Minister on July 4, posted on X: “‘Swift’ campaign pitstop.”

Swift told the 89,000-strong crowd: “Oh my God, London, look what you’ve done. What better way to spend a Friday night than in the most exhilarating city in the world?”

Friday night’s concert was the first of three sold-out dates at Wembley, with the international sensation returning in August to perform another five.
