Princess Lilibet – who is the youngest of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two children – didn’t get to meet her late grandmother Princess Diana, though they share a feature as well as a name

Princess Lilibet shares a striking resemblance to her late grandmother Princess Diana, with Prince Harry having once described his youngest child as “Spencer-like”.

Princess Lilibet, two, has been compared to her late relative – who died 1997 – whilst her brother Prince Archie, four, is said to more resemble his mother’s side of the family.

Like her father and paternal grandparents, Princess Lilibet appears to have blue eyes. And this has been highlighted by her parents Prince Harry, 38 and Meghan Markle, 41. And although King Charles III has blue eyes, it’s his late first wife. Princess Diana. whom his youngest granddaughter has been compared to and is said to resemble.

Princess Lilibet’s parents spoke about her on the final episode of their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, which was released through the streaming platform last year. After introducing Princess Lilibet to viewers, Prince Harry said at the time of filming that he thought she resembled his late mother, particularly with her eyes and hair colour.

He said on the show: “I think at the moment I see a lot of my wife in [Prince] Archie, and I see a lot of my mum in Lili. She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes.” Meghan seemed to agree, saying: “Blue, blue, blue eyes”. Prince Harry furthered the comparison to his mother’s side of the family by saying: “Sort of like a golden reddish hair.”

The same eye colour isn’t Princess Lilibet’s only connection to her late grandmother though. Her parents decided to give her Diana as a middle name in tribute. She isn’t the only member of the younger generation of the Royal Family to have that middle name, as Prince William and Kate Middleton also chose it for Princess Charlotte.

Princess Lilibet’s first name was chosen in tribute to her great-grandmother on her father’s side. The late Queen Elizabeth II’s family nickname is said to have been Lilibet. The youngest of Prince Harry and Meghan’s children was born in 2021. She was welcomed into their family two years after the birth of her older brother Prince Archie in 2019.
