BLACKPINK singer Lisa‘s music video for ‘Money’ has reached 1billion views on YouTube, becoming the second member of the girl group to reach the milestone.

The music video for Lisa’s viral song ‘Money’, which was first released in 2021, crossed the 1billion views mark on YouTube today (May 27). The Thai singer previously achieved this feat with BLACKPINK, whose music videos for songs such as ‘Ddu-du Ddu-du’, ‘Boombayah’ and more have also crossed 1billion views.

With this achievement, Lisa has become the second member of BLACKPINK to reach 1billion views with a single music video, and the third solo K-pop artist to do so overall. She follows in the footsteps of Psy’s viral 2012 hit ‘Gangnam Style’ and bandmate Jennie’s 2018 solo debut single ‘Solo’.

The milestone also comes shortly after Lisa and her company LLOUD announced a new partnership with RCA Records for her future solo releases. Under the deal, the K-pop idol will also retain full ownership of all her recordings.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Jennie recently teamed up with Zico on a new collaboration, titled ‘Spot!’. The song is the K-pop idol’s second release since she launched her own label Odd Atelier, following ‘Slow Motion’ with Brockhampton‘s Matt Champion.

Zico has since revealed that ‘Spot!’ was “crafted specifically” for Jennie, saying that he also made “five other options” for the BLACKPINK singer to choose from. “If there was only one option, it might not capture her interest,” he added.
