It takes work to maintain and grow a marriage into a productive and meaningful partnership. This can get even more difficult when you also work with your spouse in a family business. Just ask Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Spanish tabloid Marca is reporting that there may be trouble in the royal marriage. It cites a source who works for the couple who says Prince William is not the nicest husband. In fact, the heir to the throne is reportedly verbally and mentally abusive to the future queen consort. This is not a good look for the monarchy, but anyone who read Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, will not be surprised.

“Kate’s really been through the wringer lately,” the source revealed. “The way William treats her is just awful, and it’s been really hard on her. She’s such a strong person, but even she has her breaking point.”

This source, who chose to remain anonymous, apparently has an insider’s knowledge of the couple because they work for the royal family. According to Marca’s story, this mental and verbal abuse from the future king has taken a toll on Kate’s mental health. She is reportedly struggling to balance maintaining her marriage, motherhood, and her royal duties.

This is not the first time that Kate and William’s marriage has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. In 2018, during Kate’s third pregnancy, many speculated that William had an affair with Kate’s friend Rose Hanbury. The palace has denied these rumors.

One source told The Daily Beast that Rose and her family will be present at King Charles’ coronation.

“There has never been any enmity between Kate and Rose. The rumors were all a load of rubbish. The family are ancient allies of the Crown and they will be there,” the source said.
