BLACKPINK Jennie‘s star power is back in the news following a recent record-breaking real estate acquisition for Gentle Monster‘s parent company.
According to reports in the real estate industry, ‘II Combined,’ the Korean parent company of the world-renowned eyewear brand Gentle Monster, made the purchase of a luxury single-family and multi-family home with a total area of 305.62 m2 in Gangnam, Seoul for 28.5 billion KRW (20.7 Million USD) in cash, without a loan, now becoming the largest real estate acquisition in Korea this year.
The company’s strong growth and financial strength doesn’t stop there. In November last year, ‘IAI Combined’ spent 34 billion KRW (approximately 24.5 million USD) to build a commercial and office building with a total area of 445.21 m2.
It is reported that BLACKPINK’s Jennie played a crucial role in all these achievements as her collaboration with Gentle Monster significantly improved the brand’s global reputation and secured its position in the market. People often refer to Gentle Monster’s sunglasses as “Jennie’s Sunglasses,” which has propelled Gentle Monster into the international spotlight; even many celebrities have fallen for this fashion trend and have shown off the stylish glasses that were part of Jennie’s campaign. The brand’s clientele features celebrities like Beyonce, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Susan Sarandon, Tilda Swinton, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber, and Jaeha Oh.
Founded in 2011, II COMBINED has diversified its portfolio with brands like Tamburins in cosmetics and Nudake in desserts, achieving consolidated revenue of 608.27 billion KRW and an operating profit of 151.11 billion KRW last year. Of the two mentioned, Jennie is also the Global Ambassador of Tamburins, and thanks to the large Billboards of the superstar hanging in various stores of the brand and strategic areas in Seoul, it has become a tourist attraction visited by many foreigners and generating a lot of interest in cosmetics.
