MANILA, Philippines — Christian Standhardinger admitted that Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone’s decision to trade him, along with fellow veteran Stanley Pringle to Terrafirma for Stephen Holt and Isaac Go was “part of the game.”
Nonetheless, Standhardinger expressed his gratitude to the team management, the coaching staff, the players and even the Ginebra supporters for the “incredible support and love” showed to him during his time with the league’s most popular ballclub
“Being part of this team has been a truly unforgettable journey, and I’m grateful for every cheer, every chant, and every moment of encouragement,” he wrote.
To my teammates, it has been an honor battling alongside you. We shared some amazing moments, including winning two championships, and I will always cherish those memories. I wish you all continued success and many more titles in the future.”
Standhardinger, who emerged as one of San Miguel Beermen in star center June Mar Fajardo’s main adversaries for the Most Valuable Player for Season 48, also took the time to thank Ginebra’s legion of fans for their all-out support during his three-year stint with the franchise.
“I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support and love you’ve shown me throughout my time with Barangay Ginebra. Being part of this team has been a truly unforgettable journey, and I’m grateful for every cheer, every chant, and every moment of encouragement,” said the top overall pick during the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft.
Standhardinger, who won two league titles with Ginebra, averaged 19.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in Season 48.
